Over the
last two months, UNIGIS put considerable effort in expanding its activities in
Colombia. Our team from the study center in Cali exhibited at the technology fair
’Geomatica Andina 2012’ which took place between June, 4th and 5th
in Bogotá, D.C. presenting the program to an interested audience of
GIS-practitioners in Colombia.
On July,
11st Richard Resl, director of UNIGIS in Latin America and Francisco
Piedrahita, rector of one of the most prestigious Colombian universities, ICESI
in Cali, signed an agreement of cooperation. From now on ICESI will act as
official academic partner of UNIGIS in Colombia, giving UNIGIS activities in
Colombia a strong and sustainable institutional background. In return, the Colombian
UNIGIS team will train academic staff of ICESI in basic GIS-skill. We are
looking forward to a successful cooperation!
